Are you really sitting comfortably?

By Colin Clapp

If you said yes, that’s nice. I hope you’re enjoying your coffee and smelling the roses of your life. Even better, I hope you’re one of those people who turns your comfortable life into one of significance by sharing your keys to success with those who could still do with some help.

However, if you’re one of those who are not sitting so comfortably, then please accept my ‘Congratulations’. You have stumbled upon a potentially valuable gift. If you see the gift, you will get more out of this blog than anyone.

Starting right now, ask yourself some serious questions:

  • Are you really living life to the full and fulfilling your potential?
  • Do you continually move forward across your progress gaps?
  • Are you feeling fulfilled? Do you have a sense of purpose? (Here’s mine)
  • What’s on your ‘should do’ list? Why are these things on your list?

If the answers to these questions leave you feeling a little uncomfortable, then count yourself lucky. This is your gift. In the words of Tony Robbins “make discomfort your friend!” and start raising your standards across all the areas of your life where you know that you could do better.

In other words, use this discomfort to get off your backside, take some action and start living a life by design. Look at those things that you think you should do and make them important. Make them imperative. Make them an absolute ‘MUST DO!’

It isn’t enough to decide these are important goals. You need to follow through on these new promises to yourself. That means you need to make yourself accountable to someone else. Start by writing down your desired results. Then share your intentions with a trusted friend, family member or associate. The very act of doing this transforms your internal communication and activates your subconscious mind to seize opportunities that will take you nearer to your desired goals.

In the ‘Art of War’ this is called cutting off the escape hatches!

Are you still sitting comfortably? If not, you have been given the gift. Now use it!

To success and significance. Give. Take. Invest. Enjoy.
